The Lund 1775 Impact is a versatile 17'11" aluminum fishing boat aimed at someone who wants one boat that can do several jobs well. With the Honda BF115D, it's particularly well matched to the hull—enough power for strong cruising and watersports without being excessive.

What it does well
  • Fishing: Its biggest strength. The 1775 Impact has a fishing-oriented layout with good casting space, storage, livewell capability, and a relatively deep, stable hull for an aluminum boat.
  • Family use: The windshield and multi-purpose layout make it considerably more comfortable for cruising than a dedicated bass boat.
  • Rougher water: Lund's hull design gives it better rough-water manners than many smaller, flatter aluminum fishing boats. It's still a 17'11" boat, though, so it's not a big-water cruiser.
  • Performance: The BF115D gives it plenty of power. Expect roughly 40+ mph under favorable conditions with the right prop and load.
  • Trailering: It's small enough to be relatively easy to tow and launch, while still providing substantially more capability than a 16–17 ft fishing boat.
Ideal buyer

I'd say the sweet-spot buyer is an angler who also wants a family/recreation boat.

It's particularly well suited to someone who:

  • Fishes for walleye, pike, bass, trout, etc.
  • Wants to fish seriously but doesn't want a stripped-down tournament boat.
  • Regularly has 2–4 people aboard.
  • Wants to take the family cruising, tubing, or swimming occasionally.
  • Wants an aluminum boat that can handle moderately rough Canadian lakes.
  • Values durability and resale value over having the lightest/fastest boat possible.
  • Wants something manageable to tow behind a typical half-ton SUV or pickup.
